Job Description:
Responsible for laying out, fitting, fabricating, assembling, and installing structural steel components using blueprints, templates, and precision measuring tools. Candidates will cut, shape, align, and tack structural members while ensuring all work meets quality and safety standards.
Work is performed in a heavy industrial shipyard environment and may involve confined spaces, heights, varying weather conditions, and day or night shifts.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 4 years of shipfitting experience
- Advanced knowledge of structural layout, fabrication, assembly, and installation
- Ability to independently read and interpret complex blueprints, structural drawings, and templates
- Experience fitting decks, bulkheads, foundations, stiffeners, and major structural assemblies
- Ability to troubleshoot fit-up issues while maintaining production quality and schedule requirements
