Job Description

Summary of Primary Functions:   Our Installation Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of automated storage and retrieval systems (ASRS) like AutoStore. Key duties include setting up and testing equipment, ensuring proper functioning of the system, and adjusting or repairing as needed. The technician also works closely with the team to ensure the systems are fully integrated into the store's operations, provides technical support, and ensures compliance with safety and operational standards. Experience with AutoStore systems and a strong understanding of automated technology are essential for success in this role.  

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

All employees are required to follow all Safety and Quality rules and processes to ensure a safe working environment, and the production of high-quality products. Duties and responsibilities for our Installation Technician includes, but is not limited to: 

 

  • Work at elevated heights as required for project tasks. 
  • Perform physical labor tasks at construction project sites, ensuring work is completed efficiently and safely. 
  • Operate various assembly tools, including powered drills, saws, wrenches, and other equipment. 
  • Assist in cleaning and preparing construction sites for upcoming work. 
  • Contribute to various functions as part of the project team, supporting specific projects and customer sites. 
  • Participate in assembly work, ensuring precision and quality. 
  • Handle loading and unloading of materials and equipment as needed. 
  • Assist in packing and operating equipment to support project needs. 
  • Install, configure, and test AutoStore systems, ensuring all components are properly integrated and functioning. 
  • Perform routine maintenance, identify technical issues, and troubleshoot problems with AutoStore systems, addressing any malfunctions promptly. 
  • Adjust and calibrate systems to improve performance, ensuring maximum efficiency and reliability. 
  • Ensure all installations and repairs meet safety standards and operational guidelines. 
  • Maintain accurate records of installations, maintenance, repairs, and system performance for future reference and compliance. 
  • Work closely with other teams to ensure smooth integration of the AutoStore system into the store's daily operations.

Job Specifications or Qualifications 

Education:  High School Diploma preferred but not required.  

Certifications: 10-hour Construction OSHA required. Certified Auto Store Certification is highly desirable. 

 

Experience:  

  • 6+ month as an installation technician in an Auto Store setting. 
  • Proven experience working in construction, manufacturing, or similar environments. 
  • Experience with operating assembly tools, including powered drills, saws, and wrenches. 
  • Familiarity with working at elevated heights and performing physical labor tasks. 
  • Experience in loading, unloading, and handling materials and equipment. 
  • Previous involvement in assembly work, site preparation, and equipment operation. 

Key Competencies: 

  • Possesses a valid driver’s license. 
  • Must strictly adhere to safety protocols and maintain a drug-free work environment. 
  • Ability to read a tape measure accurately and understand basic English for reading instructions and following guidelines. 
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols and a commitment to working in a drug-free environment. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating reliability and accountability. 
  • Knowledge of industry-specific safety standards and practices is a plus.
