Position: Marine Pipe Fitter

Industry: Maritime/Ship Repair

Job Description:

- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and repair specifications to identify pipe fitting requirements for ship repair projects.

- Remove, dismantle, and replace damaged or worn-out pipes and fittings on marine vessels during repair works.

- Measure, cut, thread, bend, and install new pipes to restore or upgrade plumbing, hydraulic, pneumatic, and cooling systems on ships.

- Perform welding, brazing, or soldering of pipes and fittings to repair or modify existing pipe systems.

- Conduct pressure tests, leak checks, and inspections to ensure the integrity and proper functioning of repaired pipe systems.

- Collaborate with ship repair teams, engineers, and supervisors to coordinate pipe fitting tasks and meet repair project deadlines.

- Adhere to safety regulations, protocols, and repair standards to maintain a safe working environment onboard ships and in ship repair facilities.

Qualifications:

- Prior experience as a marine pipe fitter specializing in ship repair and maintenance projects.

- Proficiency in interpreting repair specifications, blueprints, and drawings related to ship piping systems.

- Knowledge of marine pipe materials, fittings, and systems commonly used in ship repair operations.

- Skilled in pipe cutting, threading, bending, welding, and soldering techniques for repairing or replacing pipes.

- Familiarity with pressure testing procedures, leak detection, and repair verification methods in ship pipe systems.
