Job Summary:
We are seeking a hands-on Test Technician to perform and document performance testing on automotive electrical components in a controlled lab environment. This role focuses on executing USCAR-21 and USCAR-45 test methods while supporting ISO/IEC 17025-compliant quality standards. Experience with APQP and PPAP processes is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
· Perform testing on electrical terminals, connectors, and wire-to-wire splices, including thermal shock, temperature/humidity cycling, and mechanical stress tests in accordance with USCAR-21 and USCAR-45.
· Prepare, configure, and inspect test samples, including crimped connections and ultrasonic welds.
· Operate, maintain, and calibrate lab equipment, including tensile testers, environmental chambers, cross-sectioning tools, and datalogging systems.
· Record accurate test data, perform initial analysis, and generate detailed reports following ISO/IEC 17025 standards.
· Participate in quality management activities, internal audits, and corrective actions.
· Identify and report test anomalies or equipment issues; assist in troubleshooting as needed.
· Maintain proper sample tracking from reception through final disposition.
· Ensure a clean, safe, and organized lab environment.
· Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance testing processes and efficiency.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
· Previous experience in a testing laboratory or manufacturing environment, preferably ISO/IEC 17025 accredited.
· Familiarity with USCAR-21 and USCAR-45 test methods and standards.
· Understanding of electrical and mechanical systems relevant to automotive applications.
· Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and methodical approach.
· Competence with MS Office (Excel, Word) and laboratory software for data collection and reporting.
· Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, standards, and test procedures.
· Physical capability to perform hands-on work and lift equipment as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Experience with APQP and PPAP processes in the automotive industry.
· Familiarity with soldering, crimping, and electrical assembly techniques.
· Experience using lab equipment such as environmental chambers, tensile testers, and electrical resistance meters.
