Requirements:
OSHA 10 hour card, preferred 30 hour
Must possess a valid driver's license.
Class A CDL (preferred but not required)
Clean driving record for three years.
Be able to pass a drug screen and background check.
Be willing to learn and work independently after training.
Be able to perform other duties assigned.
Take responsibility for company equipment and tools.
Be able to meet project needs and use good communication skills.
Employ good safety practices at all times.
Certifications and/or Licenses Required - Iowa Journeyman (Class A).
Install, repair, and maintain electrical wiring, conduit, equipment, and fixtures.
Electrician will perform work underground and above ground performing cable and conduit installations.
Perform electrical maintenance repairs in an Industrial setting while leading lesser skilled electricians to ensure a safe work environment - (Journeyman Requirement).
Responsible for complying with all Electrical and site-specific safety rules with oversight of co-workers to ensure compliance.
Responsible for the following direction from an Electrical Foreman, General Foreman, Craft Superintendent, Site Superintendent and or Project Manager.
Responsible for complying with the Lockout Tag out and OSHA. Will have oversight of co-workers within your area of responsibility to ensure compliance.
Responsible for inspecting all designated work areas for hazards.
Responsible for performing detailed inspections on hand and power tools to ensure they are safe to operate and in proper working order.
Thorough knowledge of electrician hand, power tools, and layout tools.
Must have required tools.
Be able to work at heights at various heights.
Be able to meet the physical demands and pre-employment conditions.
Have reliable transportation and be able to work 5 to 6 days a week.
Use of mathematics to validate operation and installation methods per NEC standards.
Organization and time management.
Active listener.
Good decision-making skills.
Ability to work with others - Team player.
Good communication skills with co-workers and supervisors.
Commitment to Phase One Electric values, safety rules, and regulations.
Must be able to read and interpret prints, drawings, schematics, and plans.
Responsible for the safe use of hand and power tools such as conduit benders, screwdrivers, pliers, knives, hacksaws, wire strippers, and drills with oversight of co-workers to ensure compliance.
Responsible for examining blueprints, sketches, diagrams, building plans, and specifications to determine locations of circuits, outlets, load centers, panel boards, wires, conduit, components, and other equipment.
Responsible for carrying, cutting, bending, connecting, and installing conduit as defined in NFPA 70 with oversight of co-workers to ensure compliance.
Responsible for pulling cables and conductors through specified pathways as defined in NFPA 70 with oversight of co-workers to ensure compliance.
Responsible for the modification, fabrication, and installation of cable trays as required and as defined in NFPA 70 with oversight of co-workers to ensure compliance.
Responsible for the safe operation of testing equipment to validate connections and ensure the capability of circuits using such tools as clamp meters, ohmmeters, voltmeters, and harmonics testers with oversight of co-workers to ensure compliance.
Responsible for the inspection and testing of all electrical equipment to ensure safe operation and to certify it is operating as intended with oversight of co-workers to ensure compliance.
Responsible for the safe installation and maintenance of temporary power systems and their distribution system as defined in NFPA 70 with direct oversight of co-workers to ensure compliance.
Responsible for the installation and maintenance of the assured equipment grounding/bonding on equipment and facilities with oversight of co-workers to ensure compliance.
Responsible for terminating wire/cable to electrical equipment such as but not limited to outlets, switches, breakers, control panels, and distributions systems with oversight of co-workers to ensure compliance.
Responsible for observing all state and local building / electrical codes.
Performs other duties as required.
Physical demands: Employee will be required to adhere to large amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting, and lifting.
Will talk and hear to communicate.
Will use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, and pull objects, materials, controls, and tools.
May be required to lift, carry and move up to 25lbs. Will occasionally work at heights, climb ladders and stairways and work off of platforms. Will use vision abilities to focus, see short and long distances, colors, depth perception, and peripheral vision.
Work environment: Will work in all weather conditions ranging from warm/hot - cool/cold.
Will work at different elevations.
