Job Title: Conveyor Mechanic Foreman / Lead (Mechanic & Welder)


Duration: 6–8 Weeks (Potential for Extension / Additional Projects Starting January)
Schedule: Thursday–Tuesday, Day Shift (Approximately 58–60 Hours per Week)
Per Diem: $100/day

Position Overview:

Summit Skilled Solutions is seeking an experienced Conveyor Mechanic Foreman / Lead with strong mechanical and welding skills to join our team for a UPS retrofit project. This project involves upgrading and modifying heavy-duty conveyor systems to handle oversized and irregular packages. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on working foreman who can effectively lead a team while performing mechanical and welding duties.

This is an immediate opportunity with potential for continued work on upcoming projects starting in January for qualified and high-performing candidates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and work alongside a team of conveyor mechanics and welders on heavy conveyor retrofit projects.
  • Perform mechanical installation, maintenance, and repair of conveyor systems.
  • Execute MIG, TIG, and stick welding as required for fabrication and repair tasks.
  • Coordinate daily activities, delegate tasks, and ensure project timelines and quality standards are met.
  • Collaborate with the onsite Superintendent and Construction Manager to maintain safety, productivity, and project efficiency.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and project management.
  • Ensure adherence to all safety regulations, company policies, and site-specific requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Foreman or Lead Mechanic on industrial conveyor or material handling projects.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and repair conveyor systems.
  • Proficient in welding (MIG, TIG, Stick); able to read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings.
  • Prior experience in retrofit or modification projects preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work extended hours (10–12 hours/day, 6 days per week).
  • Must be dependable, safety-conscious, and able to start immediately.

Compensation:

  • Pay Rate: $30–$40 per hour (based on experience and interview with Construction Manager).
  • Per Diem: $100/day (if applicable).
