Hood Container is searching for a certified Journeyman/Master Electrician who will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, repairing, and installation of electrical systems in support of all machinery equipment for the Tampa Plant. Additionally, this certified electrician will be responsible for reducing machine downtime by distributing and delegating all maintenance tasks throughout the maintenance department in a timely matter.
Assist management with scheduling maintenance projects utilizing CMM, work with contractors as needed, and maintain accurate and complete departmental records.
Install and troubleshoot all plant machine systems, including single or 3-phase, 120, 230, and 460 volts. Install conduit and conduit support, pull wires and feeder cables, terminations, and install panels, switchgear, and transformers.
Read and interpret mechanical drawings, construction drawings, machine manuals, and electrical blueprints/ electrical schematics.
Ensure equipment adheres to all applicable safety requirements, tests electrical systems, and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring.
Use test devices, such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure the compatibility and safety of systems.
Perform established preventative maintenance programs.
Assist with all aspects of new equipment installation.
Prepare requisitions for parts and other equipment •
Assist with the development of preventative maintenance and work order program, and inventory control process.
Perform regular routine maintenance •
Ensure all equipment adheres to all applicable safety requirements.
Follow all safety protocols and maintain good housekeeping standards.
Technically oriented ability.
Effectively and safely operate various maintenance tools and equipment. • Ability to work with electrical circuits including 24-volt controls, 120-240 volt, single and three-phase service. •
Must be able to use programmable logic controllers (PLC) to troubleshoot and repair equipment. •
Ability to troubleshoot and read electrical blueprints and schematics.
Basic math analytical skills.
Ability to work under pressure and ability to synthesize complex or diverse information.
Ability to get along well and communicate timely and accurately with co-workers and supervisors.
Must be available for workdays, nights, weekends, and holidays along with specially assigned projects.
Must have the ability to read, understand and execute all written and verbal policy instructions.
Advanced skills in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repair.
Experience installing and troubleshooting all single or 3-phase 120V to 480V systems.
Install conduit and support.
Pull circuits and feeder cables and terminate.
Install and troubleshoot panels, breakers, transformers, etc.
Read and interpret manuals and schematics.
Experience in manufacturing and Industrial electrical systems.
Valid license to practice the profession.
Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
Schedule: 3rd Shift
Monday - Friday : 11 PM - 7 AM
