Job Duties:
- Perform various types of welding and soldering on pipes and fittings according to blueprints and schematics, including TIG (GTAW), MIG (GMAW), Stick (SMAW), and flux-core arc welding (FCAW).
- Execute flawless, x-ray quality welds in restrictive and demanding field positions, such as the 6G angle position.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, pipe threading equipment, calipers, and tube bending tools for fabrication and assembly.
- Conduct rigging and lifting operations safely to position pipes and components during installation.
- Apply mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot issues related to pipe fitting, plumbing, HVAC systems, and pipeline assembly.
- Follow safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
- Maintain accurate documentation of work performed in compliance with project requirements.
- Assist with maintenance tasks related to piping systems as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of experience or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
- Strong knowledge of welding and pipefitting techniques, tools, and materials.
- Welders must certify with UGS by taking our Weld test.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Proficiency using precision tools such as calipers for accurate measurements.
- Familiarity with relevant industrial codes, standards, and regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Physical ability to perform tasks that may involve heavy lifting, climbing, and working in confined spaces.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with team members and follow instructions safely and accurately.
