Job Description

The Project Superintendent is responsible for the timely completion of the project and ensuring that the project is constructed in strict accordance with contract documents, and local codes. Project Superintendent shall schedule all subcontractors, consultants, and vendors, as well as ensure their completion of work within time allowed. The Project Superintendent shall be responsible for the coordination of work directed in the field, providing work is performed in accordance with plans and specifications. The Project Superintendent shall establish and enforce job site quality control programs to ensure quality completion of construction. We are looking to expand our current team and looking for individuals that we can work with and mentor into industrial construction and project managers.

Job Duties:

  • Schedule subcontractors, consultants, and vendors in critical path to ensure timely completion.
  • Perform quality control duties and responsibilities regarding the work being performed.
  • Communicate with project team regarding, RFI’s, and Material Submittals.
  • Ensure that subcontractor is fully executing and complying with his contracted scope of work.
  • Coordinate required inspections with local jurisdictions.
  • Identify subcontractor non-compliance with safety, health, and environmental quality standards.
  • Identify conflicts in construction progress and communicate them to project team for resolution.
  • Maintain daily Field Report (PlanGrid) of activities on the jobsite.
  • Perform duties at multiple job sites, simultaneously.
  • Monitor jobsite security and open-up, lock-up functions each day.
  • Ensure subcontractor has corrected all deficiencies identified by project team.
  • Walk all units on project daily to monitor activities and assist in future planning.
  • Preside over weekly subcontractor meetings designed to coordinate the work.
  • Issue notices to subcontractors regarding quality of work or scheduling.
  • Ensure that the job site is always kept in a clean and organized condition.
  • Perform job progress and punch list identification.
  • Perform successful logging and tracking of on-site changes/deviations from plans via PlanGrid.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in reading and understanding architectural, civil, structural, piping, and electrical diagrams.
  • Previous experience as a mechanical superintendent or in a similar role.
  • Strong mechanical background.
  • Ability to lead, teach, and mentor mechanical trades to workforce.
  • Alignment – Optical
  • Alignments – Rotating (angular and parallel alignments)
  • Excellent mathematical skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent blueprint reading skills.
  • Ability to be a team player due to constant interactions with employees, engineers, plant managers, and vendors, amongst others.
  • Organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to lead and inspire.
  • In-depth understanding of construction operations and processes
  • Fundamental understanding of Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Access, Word, Outlook, Adobe/Bluebeam, Teams, and Primavera P6. BIM software experience is a plus.
  • Effective written and oral communications.
  • Ability to work a full-time schedule.
  • Available for local and domestic travel.
  • Demonstrated ability in drafting/CAD, computer skills estimating/pricing, and project management.
  • Experience developing construction project schedules and trackers.
  • An understanding of the theories and practices of scheduling.

  • Assembling and installing machinery.
  • Dismantling older machines and replacing them with new ones.
  • Set performance goals and deadlines.
  • Plan construction processes.
  • Monitor and report on project progress.
  • Order the appropriate equipment and arrange for regular maintenance.
  • Keep track of material stock and orders.
  • Ensure the job site remains safe, clean, and orderly.
  • Resolve on-site issues and emergencies.
