Superior Skilled Trades is seeking Energy Marshals for a long-term project in the Cedar Rapids, Iowa area!

  • PAY: $30 PER DIEM: $178-208 per day worked -based in location
  • HOURS: 40+hrs
  • SCHEDULE: 7:00am -4:30pm
  • START DATE: 04/13/2026
  • DURATION: Temp to Hire

Job Description:

Serve as the leader of the electrical safety effort for construction projects. Work to ensure that appropriate energy control safety procedures are established and followed. Act as the liaison between the Owner, contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to foster a safety conscious culture that implements practical and appropriate energy control procedures. Promote a positive, “can-do” safety atmosphere that enhances the overall work environment of the project and one that is customized for the unique characteristics that each project possess.

Key Responsibilities

  • Hazardous Energy Control (LOTO): Managing and verifying that all hazardous energy sources are safely isolated, locked, and tagged out.
  • Compliance & Safety Audits: Conducting inspections, spot-checks, and audits of energy isolation procedures to ensure they meet, for example, OSHA requirements.
  • Approval Authority: Reviewing and approving Method of Procedure (MOP) and energy isolation plans for high-risk, complex projects.
  • Safety Coordination & Training: Training employees on energy protocols, leading safety briefings, and acting as the subject matter expert (SME) during re-energization.
  • Risk Management: Serving as an independent authority with the power to stop unsafe work, managing risks, and reviewing electrical schematics for potential hazards.
  • Communication & Reporting: Working with stakeholders (contractors, clients, safety teams) and providing detailed reporting on the status of energy systems

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong electrical background with experience in fast-paced data center construction project with power distribution responsibilities and understanding of critical power redundancy.
  • Ability to interpret line drawings and system redundancies to ensure design of effective LOTO systems.
  • Ability to facilitate and lead MOP and ECP status meetings to ensure the process is being executed as planned.
  • Willingness to travel weekly, work weekends, nights or relocate locally to whatever project you may be assigned to with the understanding that some projects may last for years.
  • NFPA 70E Trained and Qualified.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification a plus.
  • Qualified licensed Electrician or Electrical Engineer strongly preferred.
  • Ability to stand, walk, crouch, twist, and work at heights for extended periods.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted.
  • Position requires the use of PPE, including: Steel-Toe work boots, safety vest, hard hat, safety glasses, and gloves.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.
  • Must have reliable transportation to the job site.
  • Able to pass a background check and drug screening.
