Employer Profile

Dalcom's history reflects an evolution of the company from initially serving the power industry's need for technical services. Our current focus has grown to include providing this same high level of engineering services to the Federal Government as a HUBZone certified contractor.

Dalcom's founder and president is Tony Steelman, an entrepreneur Electrical Engineer. He believed that there was a need within the power industry that could be supplied by a new company. He realized that a small company with low overheads could provide an affordable resource for large companies to support their energy related projects. Tony formed Dalcom, LLC in 1997 to meet that need and found success with his model.

Using his ties to the power industry, Tony put together an expert team of engineers using strategic networking and pre-employment screening with a goal of delivering the right personnel to meet the diverse needs for each customer project. Dalcom personnel conducted energy grid audits, delivered power plant operational support, and used predictive maintenance technologies to establish effective preventative maintenance plans, and provided field engineering services. In the course of these projects, Dalcom saved millions of dollars for power producers and suppliers like ConEd, Dominion, and PECO.

Dalcom's dedication to delivering quality engineering services led to its rapid growth. The company, headquartered in Cambridge, MD, increased the amount and scope of services offered and recognized the opportunity to support the Government/DoD as well as commercial customers. Since September 2012, Dalcom has been a qualified HUBZone contractor, meeting the special requirements established to maintain that certification and thereby enhance the employment opportunities for individuals in historically underutilized business zones. This has in turn lead to receipt of prime contracts with the Department of Defense.
